Hello everyone how is everyone doing today? I m doing well thank you. Today I wanted to talk about thrift shopping for office supplies. Many people are not always able to go out and buy things that are brand new.
I am always on the hunt for a good sale but sometimes even the sale prices are still killer to your wallet. So I have learned to shop gently used items to help get what I want and need without breaking the bank.
If you don't mind that things are not new and shiny then Thrift shops might be for you. There is a thrift shop close to a friend of mines and she happened to be going and asked if I wanted to go with her so I went.
I didn't find any clothes which is what I had really went for but hey that is okay. While browsing the store while she shopped I went into the electronics section and to my surprise I managed to get more than I had bargained for.
I found a large flat screen computer monitor with a swivel stand for $1.50 a printer for $2.25 brand new in box unopened keyboard with mouse and mouse pad in box for .99¢.The chord to the printer is originally about $15 I got it brand new in unopened package for .79¢ power cord for the monitor cost me .10¢. They also had computer desk chairs but they wouldn't have fit in the vehicle.
Now all I need is to find a cheap or free computer tower. They didn't have one but I know if I keep looking I will find one I just have to be patient. If I hold out I know I will find one right in my price range which is cheap and or free.
So if you don't have lots of cash to spare make sure to check out any thrift shops nearby you never know what you can find in there. You might find a some hidden treasures.

Good lord you got some bargains there. I am thinking thrift stores are similar to charity shops where people donate their unwanted goods? Here in the UK they are thriving businesses and are run like a multinational businesses. Prices are quite high for some things and it is nearly as cheap to buy brand new. If things are not sold in a couple of weeks the stock is moved to another store to sell. Good luck with your hunt for a computer tower.

@OKennedy Thanks for the clarification. Although we speak the same language there are still some differences in what we call certain things!

@garymarsh6 I find that to be kind of cool that even though you speak the same language you have different names for things. Just like people in the south and the north.

I needed a taller lamp for my desk and found one at a Goodwell that when on the floor, comes up to my hip. Its height and the 200-watt bulb that's in it make it so much easier for me to see.

I shop at Thrift stores all the time. I found my brother an adjustable wrench that he loves. I paid only $3.00 for it, and it cost about $50.00 to buy it new.

I just hope all the things that you've bought are still in good quality considering they are cheaper than brand new items.

I absolutely LOVE thrift stores. I got my children's Home School curriculum for $1 a book when they are normally $75 per book. I was SO excited about it. =)
