Working Alone or Working with Someone?

Today is Friday here in my country and I woke up early to go to the office to do my task. This is not my task alone, I have a partner with me in doing this. We are supposed to help one another to accomplish the task but I do not know where is she now. I told her what is her assignments but in the end its always me who do what I instructed her to do. I do not know if I will be happy that it appears that I am more capable than she is or be upset because it is like she is reluctant to do her part. I don't care if I do all the work by myself because I am used on working independently. I just feel sad because in our office, many are being so dependent on others when they know that that person can do the task alone. And most of the time, they are those people who are older than us. Their reasons are that they have family and they do not have enough computer skills unlike the younger ones. On the other hand, I also have some colleagues whom I like to work with because they have the initiatives to do their part. There is no need to tell them what to do. They even give suggestions on the project which makes our task more successful. Indeed, two heads are always better than one. How about in your situation? Do you prefer to work alone or with someone? Have you experienced such situation as mine?
