That Sneaky Husband

Holidays tend to make me blue. I called my daughter, who lives far away, but had not called my son. He will likely not call me either. Their dad, a good man, often ignored holidays completely.
Well, my husband has made reservations at a cool place I wanted to go see, so we are skipping church and going. I will take pictures and have more to say later.
He is lucky I was kind of gracious, sometimes I do not do well with surprises.

I will be putting up a post or two about the day. The meal was in an old abandoned flour mill.

@allknowing it was cool, and historic. It was not fast food/hurry up and leave but we had the opportunity to look over the whole building and i was impressed. . . good food, real flowers on every table, cloth napkins, and a nice view.

Communication is not a strong thing in our family. In some ways, I feel sorry for my son as he often has to celebrate every holiday anywhere from two to five times counting all the celebrations with his wife's family. He is a quiet guy and this is big.

Oh, thank you. It was spontaneous as far as me knowing about it. He made reservations last Tuesday to surprise me.

I remind myself how much he loves me and wants me to be happy and it was good. I just do not like being out of control. I did not like that this is only open on Sunday.

In some ways my husband would like to treat every day like a holiday and he definitely loves to surprise me, even for no occasion.

It is normal for him. My daughter in law wished me happy Mother's Day and told me they love me on Face Book. I attached a pic of my sneaky husband.

I added one picture on this discussion and there will be more. I put one in a response in one of my older discussions about potting plants as well.

It was due to not having daughter and son around. Here we have a saying "on festive occasions more than ever one thinks of one's dear ones far away ."
