Yes,the house I live in.Is a house we live in.I love my house.
It may not be fancy for some. For us we loved it and able to do what we like.
The reason this.we have been lots of houses. They are beautiful .Nice furniture etc.But when I look at these houses. They are not live in.
I do not want a house to be perfect.I want to enjoy.I do not want to hear people saying to people.Do not touch this,oh!this is so valuable etc.
Got the message.I want a house to live in.Run around get messy at times.
But this our house. We have priceless etc.
If my kids come I let them do want they liked to do.
they know hands off.But also they know I like the school house. We have history.
All the rooms may not be perfect. We do have some clutter etc.
This is my house. This is how we live. Some people cover their furniture.
What good is that. The house is suppose to live in.
Enjoy Patti LaBelle singing The House I live in a tribute to Frank Sinatra on his 80 the birthday.Listen to the words.

I wholly agree with that. At my house, people are more imporatant than furniture. And while I have taught all my grandchildren not to cut my plant“s leaves with their scissors, if they drop something by chance there is no problem.

The house I live in does not have much furniture; however, everything is in its own place. Moving a single piece of house equipment is noticeable.

I agree, I don't want to live in a museum I want to live in a home. I got rid of my antique sofa the first time I found a lolly from one of my early grandkids stuck to it!!

@amadeo I gave up trying to control the Houligans ( our name for our grandsons) years ago but they rarely break anything especially since most of them are teens or older now.

Growing up the family next door (Italians) had all their furniture covered in plastic - even the lamp shades had plastic. It wasn't a welcoming home at all.

@amadeo The people next to us weren't poo - they owned an oil company.

@AbbyGreenhil.. You are right most early Italians do this.My aunt she had just about everything covered. When we visit her.I felt so uncomfortable. Maybe something to do with being poor or something. We never asked.

I personally enjoy visiting people that have a house that looks like it is lived in. You don't have to worry about taking your shoes off when you enter. You can sit anywhere you like. And you can enjoy the company of those that live in the home too.
Who wants to enter a home and feel like they can't move without fear of disturbing some priceless gem?

@amadeo I raised my children to look with their eyes and not with their hands. They have passed this along to their children too.

I like a clean house but a house that is comfortable and inviting. I don't want to feel like I'm living in a museum and for the grandchildren to enjoy themselves while here

When you live in a house where you've grown up, as I did, you love the history and the memories. It all reminds us of who we are and where we came from. It's all in my mind now. You're so blessed to have yours. :)
