odd little creatures

Over the past few days it has struck me that birds are weird. I'm not sure if this was a sudden epiphany, or I've always subconsciously thought they were odd, or if it's simply crept up on me. Regardless, they are really weird. They remind me of tiny feathered dinosaurs. I wonder if worms hear them roar in a bloodthirsty fashion. I marvel at their balance and their lack of a need for hands. They strut their chests out, blokes on a night out attempting to attract the ladies. I mean, they even knock on the door of the worm's house and invite him out to dinner. That's pretty polite. When I hear them chattering away, I wonder what they're nattering about. Do they gossip about each other? Or are they just having a competition to see who has the loudest squawk? Birds are weird. Daft little feathered dinosaurs, with their lack of arms and their early morning songs of joy and wakefulness. I shall be dreaming of birds all night now.

Noo, birds are not weird, they are nice little creatures, some of them can also be so friendly. I have a friendly red robin that comes to spend the winter in my garden. The little guy is so friendly, he dares to come to eat from my hand.

@Poppylicious I imagined that it was not an insult. I only ate them when I have just washed the car and they have the bad idea to use it as a toilet.

I meant weird in a nice way ... it was a compliment rather than an insult!

they are fun to watch - often quite beautiful but as you say, very odd

I like watching them, especially when they're collecting odds and sods for their nests. They're clever little things.

They are good looking budgies. They tend to bug each other and bicker like married couples. I don't know if I could get birds myself just with the nosie they make.

These birds were in a shop. They were a bit more boring than the wild birds.

I think birds ARE closely related to dinosaurs. I love the chatter of budgies and cockatiels. It sounds cheery to me.

I'm quite sure I've read somewhere that they're related to some dinosaurs too. :)

Awww, that's sweet. I wonder if they talk about us humans when they're all together.
