My husband's university alumni is organizing a charity run again this year. There was another run nearby my house last Sunday, so my husband and his seniors went there and distributed their charity run's flyers. My children and I followed as well. My children were happily distributing the flyers, though we were all tired after that. I think it was a good experience for the children. They were like doing volunteer work, which I always like to let my children do some volunteer work. Do you always join some running or walking events?

That is awesome you and your kids got to help your husbands universally alumni charity by distributing flyers. What was the charity for? I used to do a lot of volunteer work when I was in high school, it was very fun!

That's really good. I think it's really nice for us to do volunteer work. It's not only helping others, but we will definitely learn a lot from doing so too. We can also have fun while helping. Last year, they donated the money to a charity organization, I am not sure which organization they are donating to this year.

@kaka135 I see but that's still sweet of your husbands alumni group to raise money for organizations!

I can't run since I am bad at it. I can walk for a long distance but it seems there is no such a walking event here As to the running event, it will be held here once or twice a year hear. I am totally not qualified to join it. My friend is good at running and she has joined the international running in USA, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and I wonder when she will join it in Malaysia. Perhaps it depends on her time.

We have many walking events here as well, so I always try to participate in those events with my children too. For those running events, I usually take part in those less than 5km, and I even carried my little girl with me, so that means we didn't really run too. We just joined for fun, not for those professional ones. There are many fun runs or family runs, but not only marathons. I wonder if there are also such fun runs in China.

@kaka135 Perhaps there will be some families join the marathons for fun. I can't even think I can run for one kilometer and I will feel embarrassed to walk all the time

Never have. I could have back a few years but couldn't now. Lucky if I make it to bathroom without walking into a wall or nearly falling. I would do very good out there walking or running. I used to jog and now I can't run and don't walk so well.

It's good that you jogged. I hope I can continue my morning job daily after I give birth. I really need to exercise more, as I am really lacking of exercise. Do what you feel comfortable doing now. Take good rest too.

@kaka135 ....I don't exercise at all. I think that walking should always be remembered. Good for you.

I remember reading that from you. I have friends who take part in cycling event, it sounds really fun. I can't wish to do that, as I don't even know how to cycle.

I started to go for those running events with my ex-colleagues, for fun actually. But, some of them have gone for half marathon. After that, I started to bring my children to join those fun runs or family runs, for fun and for family activities as well. I do enjoy walking or jogging at my own pace too, or together with the children.

I don't run, not something I ever did. I'm lucky if I can walk around the yard many days!

I am sure all of us have different interests. I used to hate running when I was in school, and I am not a sports person at all. I just started to like running or jogging after I started working. I found it relaxing and helping me to release stress.

@kaka135 I'm almost 69 so running isn't anything that this old body wants to do LOL

I am not able to run. In the past I would probably have done well in a walk. I think it is great that your kids participated in putting the flyers out. It lets them know that they make valuable contributions.

We are not professional runners too, we just run or walk for fun. There are many fun runs or family runs here, so we usually just participate in those, just to have fun and let the children exercise more. Yes, I think by doing some purposeful work, the children are happy for being able to help too. My son has been really helpful in distributing flyers to the neighborhood these few days too. He also came up with some ideas for "marketing" or spreading the news about the charity run.

We don't join in these events but we do try to help out in a volunteer capacity whenever we can.
