How does one respond to a "Good Night" post?

Many a morning when I log onto the social media sites and get the "good night"
posts from friends about to retire and sleep, how is one supposed to respond?
I normally say "sleep well" but most of them never return to their "good night" posts therefore my well wishes for their rest has fallen on deaf ears.
Are they worth reading?
Should we avoid the ones with "good night" in their titles?
What more do they have to offer the reader other than to say "good night, I am off to sleep so I wont be around to respond to your chatter or any other rebuttal"
Unfortunately we encounter this because we are all in different time zone's and with any 'good night' post they are clearly stating that they are about to sign off . . . .
On the flip side of the spectrum - Good Morning posts might give me more hope of some back-and-forth debating as they are still awake and around.
What are your thoughts?

How would you react if someone said (to bid good night) "May you rest in peace" LOL!

as long as there is some meat to them, I can find something to say.

@Inlemay if there is other content to the post besides just "good night."

I don't respond to the good night posts. If it falls somewhere within a discussion I do respond though.

You have a point their. Since if it is good night then no more response after that from them.
But for me it doesn't matter. I still wish them a good night sleep though it is daytime from our place and I don't wait for response to that. Its just like a friend wishing a dear friend good night.

@Inlemay hahahah...that would be it also..hahaha so silly..
But anyway some of them responded to by the next morning.
But most I respond the goodnight wish was with those other topics included with their goodnight.

You mean all they say is "good night"? Usually when I write a "good night" post I say something about what happened during my day or what is going to be happening the next day.

i aint particularly fond'f neither i fear. perhaps if'n they'd more to say than "i'm drinkin' my coffee 'n havin' a piece'f toast" 'r "i'm tired'n gonna turn'n" such'd be a tad diff'rent. aint got nothin' to do with time zones, jest folks spittin' out whate'er whilst they're tryin' to "earn" their fractions'f a cent :(

I don't usually bother with the good night or good morning posts. Really, what can you say in reply? Good night? Good morning?
