Good morning.Ah!sun out there. Is your tap water killing you?after hearing about the problem in Flint about the water being tainted there with lead. Now we have some of New Hampshire having the similar problem.I have a weird feeling that this is going to spread if they do not do something. We do get a report now and then about the chemical in our drinking water. They even shut off the fountain in some of the schools here. How do we handle this.Buy bottled water?how do we know that they are safe. Lot of question?to be had.Is your tap water killing you?

I know that I do not want to drink tap water, there are so many chemicals and pesticides in the drinking water.

It seems that the tap water I use is safe although I did buy a filter for it and use a lot of bottle water (quite expensive as compared to the other(. But there are places in Chile where water cannot be drank for lead. It is in the north of Chile, near some big mines. People want the government to check that better, but the owners of the mines have more power.

I do not drink tap water, I know that in Switzerland the pesticides have been banned because there were too many residuals in the tap water. I do not believe that the situation has so much improved in only two years.

We live in the country and have what is called 'city water' but it's not really city water - it's from a creek or river or something - This house has a whole house water filtration system so I'm assuming it's fairly ok to drink - it has no flavor, smell or color so I'm fine with it.

@amadeo This water that we have is far better than our last home - that water smelled like chlorine all the time...we had the State of TN come check it and it tested ok....

I only drink filtered water and never drink tap water. However, my mom (who is 94) insists on drinking tap water and thinks we're all crazy for going with filtered or bottled water. Go figure

I'm fortunate to have excellent well water. It is tested every year and if fine. Of course, we have it filtered. The only bottled water I prefer is Poland Springs. I hope they find a solution fast in New Hampshire!!!!

From what I've been told, the tap water in my city is one of the cleanest anywhere. It comes from our reservoir in the western part of our city. We don't need bottled water or filters here, which is wonderful.

I've been reading about the problems in Flint and how widespread it may be. Around here they just replaced all our waterpipes as part of big programme of renewal. Makes me feel better about it

Fortunately for us our water is usually safe. There are some questions about the safety of bottled water due to the plastic they use for the bottles. I guess these days we are all at risk of something or another. Remember they said do not eat butter. Now they say it is better to eat butter than margarine.( I have never followed that advice because I will not even have margarine in the house it is vile stuff)
