In 2012 I was fairly vocal about politics and the election. This time around I have chosen to be quiet, sit back and just observe. What I am seeing ain't pretty. There's name-calling, race baiting, those who only want freedom of speech when they agree with what's being said and protests over the mundane. I recall a post I wrote on another site about wanting to learn Irish Celtic language and was immediately bombarded by someone who went on for a number of comments on how dare I not want to learn Spanish. The person got downright livid about it. According to them I had to learn it no matter what. It didn't matter that I had no interest in the language. Because they said so, I was supposed to immediately do it. I work with a number of Spanish speaking people now and you know what language I talk to them in? That's right, English. There is no political debate because people are "triggered" over simple conversations. Everyone is offended by ideas these days. They don't want to hear the other side because they don't want to think.
