Day 54 Psalm 54 Psalm 54:1 (To the chief Musician on Neginoth, Maschil, A Psalm of David, when the Ziphims came and said to Saul, Doth not David hide himself with us?) Save me, O God, by thy name, and judge me by thy strength. 2 Hear my prayer, O God; give ear to the words of my mouth. 3 For strangers are risen up against me, and oppressors seek after my soul: they have not set God before them. Selah. 4 Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul. 5 He shall reward evil unto mine enemies: cut them off in thy truth. 6 I will freely sacrifice unto thee: I will praise thy name, O LORD; for it is good. 7 For he hath delivered me out of all trouble: and mine eye hath seen his desire upon mine enemies. (KJV) Have you ever looked for something and couldn’t find it, yet you knew it was right there in front of you, hiding in plain sight? David had fled from Saul because Saul wanted to kill him. Saul was jealous of David because he was greater in battle than Saul. The people sung David’s praises ascribing more victories over the enemy than Saul had. Sometimes when you need to hide from someone, you do so by hiding in plain sight, even in the midst of them, which is what David did not once but many times. David never sought Saul’s life, but asked God to deliver him from his oppressors and his enemies. God heard David’s prayer because David put God first instead of going ahead of God and taking care of his enemies on his own. When we seek God’s help when trouble comes our way, God will hear us and we too will be able to hide among those who wish evil upon us. God will keep their eyes from us, so we will be able to do God’s work, and God will take care of those who come against us. Seek God’s will for your life, and God will take care of you even in the midst of those who come against you. Let’s pray: Father, help me seek you in every situation in my life. Let those who come against me know you are my defender. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen. Copyright © 12 May 2016 by Valerie Jean Routhieaux Image courtesy of Pixabay

It´s comforting to know that God may obscure the eyes of our enemies, so one can continue a search for his light. I love the Psalms.

I used to work a shift that ended at 2:30am Many times I've walked home alone at 3am and always arrived at home safely. Then on my day off, another guy on the same shift, on the same route, at the same time got attacked. Some say I am always "lucky"... I know the difference.

@just4him oh ya, I left that city shortly after, as a girl I know got attacked in her own flat. she lived alone.. and the intruder was waiting for her to come back. she fought him off, broke a tooth...
