Hi Mylot Friends, Vadakkunathan temple also a temple of " Lord Siva" which is located near Trissur in Kerala state of India. We cannot see the Sivalingam in this temple because the Sivalingam is covered by Ghee. History says that this temple is 1600 years old. Since the beginning of this temple Ghee is used for washing (Abhishekam) so the Sivalingam is covered with the Ghee. The greatness of the temple is the Ghee will not give bad odor and the Ghee will not melt even in hot summer. Ayur vedic doctors use this Ghee in preparing medicines as holy Ghee. Image:Wikipedia
