What about the pig though?

When I see people that cry over their pets dying or having compassion towards lions when they get hurt, I sometimes wonder "what about the pig though? Who has compassion for the pig though?".
Who stole your compassion? Why don't you care about the pig too but only about dogs, cats, lions and a few other animals? Who brainwashed you to believe that the pig is a lower being, an inanimate object with no feelings that deserves no compassion?
And let me be clear about this, I am not just talking about pigs, I am talking about all the species that humans exploit for their benefits, including sheep, cows, goats, turkeys, hens, foxes, marine animals, etc. Who lied to you that their lives don't matter and that they are here for you to exploit them?

Although I am a cat and dog lover, but I can also feel it will be sad if other kind of pet animals die. It is the same. Since you stay with your pet for some time, you will have some feelings to it. It is even like a member of your family. So it is normal to feel sad even if it is a pig or other animals.
