This is my entry for the latest poetry challenge from @Jessicalynnt The keywords this weekend are ‘mum, dad, family, secret, blood’. Poem – Ordinary I have no secret identity Or hidden special powers at all I’m an average mortal entity If we get invaded, I’m not the one to call. Don’t expect me to crawl up the wall Or leap over buildings in a single bound My ability to fly is nowhere to be found. No one shot my family and my planet’s still intact I can’t be a superhero and I’m embittered by this fact. Even if I get radiation in my blood It will just make me ill or kill Me rather than inspire me to fight for the good. Clark Kent without a cape Bruce Wayne without money or a cave No phantom zone peril to escape No Lois Lane to save Mum might be glad I’m not a mutant My DNA’s from her and dad You save the World if you want I’m normal so I can’t. lol! I have often wished I had super powers myself. Lovely submission to this grouping of words!
