Do you ever get rid of them?

Most of my friends here know that we gave DD, a/k/a Dumb Donna, her walking papers around Memorial Day last year. We have not seen her since July 6th when her cousin packed her up and moved her out. Something that both of us are over joyed about, BTW. Still, we have gotten her mail, and not junk mail either, important stuff. We get phone calls, some from her doctor's offices, etc. This morning, just a little after 9 a.m. (and what time is that to call on a Sunday morning!!!) from Capital Metro, asking for her. I was awake, lucky for him, but the roomie had gone back to bed. I informed him that she hasn't lived here for nearly a YEAR and to take this number out of the list! grrrrrr!!! Mind you, we still get phone calls from that former roommate "J" and she's been gone for nearly 4 years! And some calls for another former roommate and MAIL for one who died in 1999!!!

thats a bit of a hassle indeed but legal offices or big companies might probably call you again unless you inform that ex roomie of yours to contact them.

I have done that! I called her earlier this year and told her to do that. Then we sent a note with the latest document to her cousin to get the change done. DD is a MORON!

Before I ditched my landline, I was getting calls every now and then for the previous owner who had not lived here for around 10 years.

I guess that's the advantage of having a phone number for 32 years... except we keep getting calls for former roommates!
