I paid half my tuition fee this semester. And although I feel broker than a mouse, I'm happy I managed to come up with the money.
It feels good to be independent from your parents. I'm proud of myself. Although my bank account is completely wiped out.
Have you guys done a similar thing? Save for something really big?

Yes. A house, a car, and my two bicycles (combined together can buy a 2nd hand car).

What about the other half of the tuition fee?
Long ago, when I was just 11 years old, I worked during the festive season in a restaurant to help pay for my examination fee.
I got good tips, and I was able to pay the few hundred dollars for the examination fee.
I was very happy.

I bred rabbits during 3 years to make a living when I was a student. Well, I was supposed to be a farmer, and I believe it is why I got all my exams : the college needed probably to have one for its stats
.
Tuition fees are very low here, the education is free, including in colleges, and you pay only a little amount for a registration fee and social security at the beginning of the year. Only some private business schools have important tuition fees.
Congratulations to have been able to pay your tuition fee without any help

I had to save for a huge expense this past January when I ended up putting my dog down. The hardest thing I've done in a long time. I had put my previous dog down 6 years ago and I miss them both. The picture is Pip the day before I put her down.

@flapiz Rascal, whose picture I hunted for and couldn't find, went into non-stop seizures. He was 14 and arthritic. He was a wonderful companion and I miss him a lot. Pip had a large tumor on her thigh that proved to be cancerous and she had aggressive cancer throughout her body. At the end she wasn't eating, though you could see she really had a spark of life. It was so hard putting them both down. If I find the picture Rascal I'll put it up.

Thank you. I am. I spent my months worrying if I'd be able to come up with the money. I'm very lucky God provides.

I wish. I'd be too old if I study to be a doctor. I'm a nurse though. That's close enough. I'm doing a management course at the moment to extend my visa.

But don't worry they are in doggy heaven now. Eating all the bones they could chew.
