A Costly Oops

I've told you in the past how easy it is for circuits to blow in this house. Another good reason to move.
Anyway, one day last week I blew a circuit in the kitchen. All I did was plug in my griddle to make a couple burgers, and it has ended up being one of the costliest blown circuits yet. Costly because it affected the refrigerator.
I heard the fridge gurgle, but didn't think anything of it until I also realized my griddle wasn't getting hot. I did go down and take care of the circuit and restored power to my kitchen. However, that gurgle was not good. My freezer doesn't freeze anymore.
Yesterday, we threw out a lot of food from the freezer. There is still some that hasn't completely thawed yet because it is still cold in there, just not freezer cold. So I won't be buying anything for the freezer before I move, and everything left in there, will get eaten as quickly as possible before I have to throw that out as well. A lot of money went into the garbage yesterday, and that wasn't a good thing.
Any food we buy now, will be as we need it, so we don't need to worry about having it go bad.
Have you done anything unintentionally that cost you? Thanks for reading.

I'm sure I have done something. Have forgotten it and filed it away somewhere I guess. So the place doesn't come with kitchen appliances?

@celticeagle I had to cook up 20 burgers last night. They were completely thawed.

Wow, I'd be afriad of setting other stuff off, and would prob have everything not in use unplugged, which I know doesnt work for freezers and fridges, but you know what I mean

@just4him esp since it seems like you are at great risk of a fire!

@Jessicalynnt God's been watching out for me on that score with so much on one circuit - all my computer cords and the TV and DVD also on the living room and bedroom circuit. One more plug on that one and it would blow the circuit, which is why I run the extension cord to the kitchen for the heater. Now that summer is here, I don't need that one anymore.

there are some instances that i unintentionally plug something in the socket and then there was an uneventful outcome, but no, there were no costly after-effects though.
