Coffee Problems

So, I've had a Mr. Cofee k-cup coffee maker for a few years now. I got it for Christmas and it has seen A LOT of use.
Recently it only started brewing half a cup.
I read all the instructions and online help and did everything recommended by the company and by other people to make it work again.
It sort of worked.... I go a few full cups, then it got weird.
Now I may get a full cup, or a half cup, or I may not. The pot may just decide to not work at all.
This morning I got a third of a cup of coffee.
Cleraly I need a new pot. And I can't afford another K cup brewer so I'm looking at inexpensive single cup brewers on Amazon. I can buy a cheap one with my gift cards.
BUT....
My birthday is next month.
So, should I put up with my iffy brewer in hopes that someone MIGHT buy me a new pot for my birthday? Or should I use my cards and buy a new pot and gaurentee a full cup of coffee every morning?
What would you do?
(image - if it shows up - is of myself with one of my coffee mugs)

I'm always trying to save my gift cards for something big, but I really need my coffee. I think you're right, I should go ahead and get myself an inexpensive coffee and not wait and hope.

I tend to buy what I need myself. Then I am not disappointed if no one gets it for me.

I would hint like crazy that I need a coffee maker. But you could ask for gift cards too.
