Are chocolates harmful for teeth?

May 24, 2016 10:08am CST
In India children are very fond of chocolates, like 5 star, Diary chocolates, gems and other chocolates. Children have milk tooth which go off and the permanent teeth come after that. Excessive eating of chocolates create damage for the gums and teeth. Children dont understand the consequences. Their parents should guide them.

I don't think it is chocolate that harms the teeth. Mostly, you eat it and it's gone. Something like soda or gum is worse for the teeth because there is sugar in the mouth for a longer time. Chocolates seem to make people feel good. If I come to your house, I hope you have some chocolate.

@akalinus Thanks Jo. You are welcome anytime every time.

Thanks Jo, too much of sugar is bad for gums and teeth. I agree with you, that the acidic nature of fizzy drinks hurts the teeth more. If you come to my house I will have chocolates for you.

Thanks Erval, everyone should brush their teeth twice a day. The germs in the teeth can be tackled in that way.
