Are you familiar with the expression, "Yes, I heard that before." It suggests that the person making that comment is being sarcastic, by it's meaning or intended meaning of, in my own translation, "People always say this but it never can be believed." Sometimes it has other meanings. It can be confusing sometimes when people respond with that phrase, a kind of Catch Praise if you cant to call it that. "Yea, I've heard that before." In a conversation where someone is saying, "I'll take care of it when I have time." or, "I keep trying but can't seem to get it done." Excuses excuses. People are full of them. Sometimes using catch phrases like the one mentioned in the title of this discussion can be misinterpreted. What kinds of catch phrases are you familiar with in conversation that ends up being more like an excuse not to get something done?
