Sometimes watching the news gets pretty depressing with the crime that is taking over the United States and other countries. Every now and again though, there is a story that absolutely warms your heart and you realize that there really are some good things that happen. In Desoto, Texas, there is a little 5-year-old girl named Gigi Zuniga that has been battling Leukemia since she was 3 and recently had a bone marrow transplant. Ever since she got to blow the horn of a police car, she has been interested in all things police related and would like to be a police officer. Officer Tyler Sherman and a friend heard about this little girl and decided to surprise her at her home in Irving by bringing her a fitted, police uniform and badge with her name on it. Desoto Police Chief Joe Costa swore her in and made her an honorary police officer. How special is that! Go Team Gigi.

Such a warm story, I am almost moved to tears. And it also reminds me of the moving story of a nine-year old "Iron Boy" named Dominic who was terminally ill. It is a moving story about Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth and Clover Moore helping the little boy with his dream of becoming a super hero.

That is special and sweet. In Edmonton a little girl got to be "Spider Mabel " for a day. It was from some wish foundation for sick children. But the story about Gigi is the sort of story that we could make happen every day.
A six-year-old cancer survivor from Edmonton dubbed ‘Spider-Mable’ is living out her dream as she battles crime and helps rescue the Edmonton Oilers captain from an evil villain Monday.
