At last the long awaited postcard from @BelleStar has arrived. She was quite concerned about its Non-arrival and so i had to tell her that the postcards first have to travel around the world, up and down Africa on a camel before they get to me.
Bravo- - so pleased it has arrived. I actually have never ever read up on Connecticut, so today that has been my homework.
Did you know that Connecticut is a southern New England state that's a mix of coastal cities and rural areas dotted with small towns.
Mystic is famed for its seaport filled with centuries-old ships, and the beluga whale exhibits at Mystic Aquarium. On Long Island Sound, the city of New Haven is known as the home of Yale University and its acclaimed Peabody Museum of Natural History.
What I found entriguing was the Nick-names it goes by:
"The Constitution State (official)
The Nutmeg State
The Provisions State
The Land of Steady Habits"
Steady Habits - now I wonder what they might be?
Another thing is the spelling of the name: Connecticut - who thought up that name?
I love that there are many Lighthouses in the area, and if would be marvelous to see some in a post - thats a clear hint Isabelle!
My letterbox runneth over so to speak and i am loving the postcard crossing with friends from all over the world.
Thank you

Connecticut is a native American word that means long winding river and the Connecticut River cerainly fits that description, so glad my card arrived.

I LOVE the idea of exchanging post cards with myLot friends, but I wonder about putting up our addresses. I have a Post Office Box, so that wouldn't be too risky, but I'm wondering what method we should use.

@Jessicalynnt I know - imagine if we could just pick a spot on the globe and say "just for a day - take me away" and we could be there, just for that day - Imagine

i confess to ne'er've been to those parts, though seems quite the shame. the "elder" states've quite a bit'f history to 'em, the architecture 'n landscape quite varied.
ya know, if'n ya gave somebody else yer addy (without'em needin' to wait fer a post from yerself), ya might get one from this land'f enchantment where's i hang my hat soon. (hint...hint...)
i'm lookin' ferward to startin' this with many folks myself. yepperz, ya ladies talked me into such.
big hugs!

I would be happy to send you a postcard from Virginia. And I would love to have one from South Africa. Do you put your mailing address up on myLot or use another method?
