They will stop at nothing to squeeze the most out of a penny!
Since I was a child, one of my favorite foods was a nice toasted tomato sandwich with a little salt and pepper. Simple, right?
Well, the 'money grubbers' have found a way to spoil even this simple pleasure of mine.
Have you noticed that, whether it's a regular tomato or a 'beefsteak' tomato, they are getting almost inedible? The taste is different and the texture is dreadful. Soon, you will need to 'core' a tomato before you eat it. Used to be you could slice a tomato down to within about a half inch or less from the bottom(core). Now, after two or three normal slices from the top, you start running into core center and sinews all through it which make it near impossible to cut a good slice, let alone chewing through it.
Is it me or genetic engineering gone rogue...?

I don't honestly eat that many tomatoes. When I do eat tomatoes, it's usually the cherry tomatoes. However, I can agree that GMO has really ruined a lot of our foods, and is obviously ruining our bodies in the process.

There are no genetically modified fruit or veg for human consumption anywhere in Europe. Maybe you should consider moving. They'll sell you any old crap in the US and call it food.
