Today is a half day at school. Tomorrow is the last day I cannot wait! I might be more excited then the kids haha. Today at 9 am was the student awards assembly which parents thankfully are allowed to attend. I thought it was at 8:30 so I arrived on time for once. When I got there she said it was not until 8:50 but was postponed until 9 am as the breakfast was delayed. I didn't want to hang around in the parking lot when I live right down the street so I went home and puttered. At 9 am I went back up. Halfway through the assembly the principle announced that a Honda Odyssey in the parking lot had the alarm going off. GRRR I don't know what it is with the parking lot up that sets off my alarm. It happens just about every time I go up there. I wonder if it has something to do with the police car that patrols there. So I had to run out unlock my door to shut the alarm off and run back in so I wouldn't miss anything. My son got a reading achievement award. My daughter got a Presidents award and a Honor Roll award. I was surprised they didn't get more but am happy they both got something so they will be excited when they come home.

Maybe your alarm is just sensitive? Congratulations to your son and daughter for getting awards!

There has to be something up there that sets it off as it literally happens every time I park up there and lock my doors. It's really embarassing.

@infatuatedbby oh wow how rude. My sister told me her ex boyfriend had really loud trucksand he would rev them really loud behind cars in the school parking lot to set the alarms off.

@shaggin that's also sometimes motorcycles like to rev and do it intentionally. There's an alley behind my boyfriends house and there's always cars that do it purposely rev to make alarms go off.

Congrats to your children, I remember when mine would come home with these awards (I live too far away and had no car to attend) and now I only have one child who will be in high school next year.

My daughter will be in 7th grade next year. My son will be in third. He brought two awards home yesterday although they only had him stand up for the one. He showed me them this morning and said that he only got two but he was glad because if he hadn't gotten any I would be mad. I told him I would never be mad if he didn't get an award. I told him he does very well and that as long as he tries his best that I am happy. I told him I never got awards so I am very proud of him!

@shaggin Awww, you're a good mom. I am that way too, as long as my children do their best, I will still be proud of them.

It is good they both got something. Is President's award for fitness?

You must be very proud of your son and daughter awards. That is very odd about the vehicle's alarm.
