Upon my humble home
the wall,
a water painted horse
befall,
Equiferus his name
to be
Hung and strung for
all to see.
~ Lany Olivier
poem dedicated to the first painting, painted by my daughter Inge.
My daughter had her first painting framed for me, and today I got to hang it in my living room - the one that only carried the family photos of my children and grandchildren. I felt it fitting to honour this beautiful original painting in a place I spend most of my time knitting and reading. A place we have tea, chat and laugh, a place where the children play on the warm wooden floors, a place that reminds me - this is my home.
I feel very touched by her gift.
Equiferus is its name!
Latin for Zebra, equu for horse and ferus for wild - "wild horse"

Thank you for sharing. The poem and the painting . Home is where my heart has been always.....only now home no longer means a stationary place for me.
