Writers and people in general can come up with oddball things to say. I tried to remember a few of the weird things that I bumped into from time to time, and here are several of them. Maybe you can come up with more of these strange sayings from those which you heard and which you may have read here and there. * * * * * * * * * * There I was, all alone in that crowded room. Alphabets are really quite useful. The sun peeked out from behind a cloud. Why was it hiding? One-penny gum is a bargain, but they don't sell it in those 99-cent-only stores these days. "Three-In-One" lubricating oil is unusual. One wonders how they fit all three of them into one can. * * * * * * * * * * Now, let's see what you can do. Image source: Pixabay dot com

@Marcyaz - Wouldn't it be strange if those two sayings were (1) Barkless trees are really quiet - and (2) Beating halfway around a bush beats beating all the way around a bush.

@Ceerios Yep it would be strange if that was the way those two sayings were.

@jaboUK - Ms Janet - More than likely, a blank mind is a much better kind of mind to have than is a mind all full of fuzziness.
