I knew something was wrong!

Warning, some may find this gross! This morning I woke up to a new development. Mixed in with the copious amounts of mucus that I was blowing out my nose, there was now blood. My head still pounding with a sinus headache. Definitely time for another urgent care trip. I had gone last week and they swabbed for strep and said they would call if it came back positive (I tend to not show the usual symptoms with strep). They never called and my throat improved so I thought it was negative. Nope. I have been suffering all week for nothing. It was positive and now my sinuses are infected as well. So now I am on antibiotics. The pharmacist said I should feel some improvement starting tomorrow. As for now, I will be crawling into bed after I take some pain killers.

Thanks. After only 24 hours on antibiotics I feel better, but my appetite still hasn't come back.

Just a sore throat usually isn't an issue. I have now twice not shown the usual symptoms of strep but did indeed have it. And with the issues my kids have had the last 2 weeks, I figured something was up. Once it spread to my sinuses it could no longer be ignored.

I generally try not to run to the doctor every time I cough or sniffle, it is usually bad by the time I get seen.

Yikes indeed. What really bothers me is that I could have been put on antibiotics at least 5 days sooner. I didn't have to get as bad as I did if they had called like they said they would. This has happened twice in the last 9 months. Last time my son ended up with impetigo which is caused by the strep bacteria.

@Morethanamom - I hope you get feeling better quickly. Sometimes we have to call them I guess. I usually wait for them to call if that is what they say, but one can't count on it.
