No tvs or books

There is a place about a half hour from me that accepts donations. It is in the side of a big old barn. The door is always open and you can go in anytime you want to donate items or to take what you want. It is so wonderful this woman does this for others. I have been going there for years. My kids and I stopped there a few days ago and my son noticed a new sign on the door that said "no tvs and no books as we cannot give these away". I assume people drop off these things and they pile up and no one takes them. It would cost the woman money to dispose of them. I personally loved finding good books there so that's a bummer for me. How sad that books have become such a thing of the past that they can be free and no one wants them. I tend to take to many free books I have a hard time saying no to them when I see them. I need to take more time to read.

It's because people want to read their Kindles or Nooks I assume, it's really quite sad to think that nobody wants to read a real book anymore.

That's so sad! We ran into a book giveaway at my library once and between my mom my dad and me I think we took about 90% of the books that were there! Still haven't read them all, but I don't turn down free books!!

@shaggin yeah, I understand that lol. Netflix takes up way too much of my time too.

@ChildofGod81 My husband and I shared a room. It was my computer / his video game room. He would watch Netflix movies all the time while I was listing things for sale on ebay and I would get so distracted I would get nothing done haha.

That really is sad re the books, but I guess they were just getting too many. I belong to an organisation that gives donated free books away. It is a very rewarding experience.
