Essential Oils

I recently sort of got into essential oils. I have bought a few different kinds on Amazon when I received an Amazon gift card from some online earning site, so I thought, why not?! The first two I bought was "Natural" Lemon and Clary Sage. Boy, I absolutely love how these smell together that I was so excited and purchased a couple more. So for the second round, I bought Ylang Ylang and Bergamot and I am sadly disappointed. I had looked up online and it said these two made for a good combination, but I don't like them together. Really, I just don't like the Ylang Ylang. I guess there is no way to know if you will like a scent until you actually smell it. (Perhaps I should have thought about that). What are you favorite essential oils? Which ones would you suggest? Are there any good "pairs" or "blends" of oils you would suggest? (I will suggest to you, for example, lemon and clary sage. It smells delicious!) Also, what do you use your essential oils for? I created a cute little "febreeze" type spray with dilluted clary sage, lemon and water. I also use it after showers. I'm looking for different things to do with it though. What about you?

I love essential oils. I love citrus scents, especially sweet orange. I haven't mixed them up much just because I love different oils for different rooms.

@maezee I bought some diffusers years ago and since I've moved I made my own. I love those oils so much!

I have a little bottle of Eucalyptus Essential oil--but--dumb question--what exactly are "essential oils" for? What are they essential to?

Lol. Who knows. I am new to this. Apparently different ones have different supposed benefits. Like some say they will reduce your stress, others say they will energize yiu and so forth. To me it might be psychosomatic really. I personally just like how they smell and like how they make my skin feel. What do you do with the eucalptys? Does that smell good?

@maezee I haven't really done anything with the eucalyptus oil yet, though I do like the scent. I may wind up putting a drop on my lamp light bulb so that it "diffuses" when I turn the light on.

Essential oils as you say, some are not so pleasant, it`s a matter of taste/smell.l usually use the oils added to bath water. Will try the lemon but l dont like sage.

I also do that! A few drops and it seems to be super relaxing and softens your skin. I recently just bought Sandalwood now and I am waiting for that to come in the mail. The clary sage doesn't smell like sage much to me, smells a little sweeter than sage in my opinion. What types do you use? Any to suggest TO ME?
