No Help for Mental Health

We have heard a lot of news lately about people killing, maiming, blowing things up and being a menace to public health and safety. I just heard a story about someone who decided they needed mental help and tried to sign himself into a hospital. He was turned away because they would not take his insurance. We should not be surprised if there is more of this sort of thing happening if mental health is only open for those who qualify for it.

We have noticed that is true so true about those who suffer with a mental illness and also no 'good' help for the very ill, such as those with cancer or other debilitating illnesses. Sad, isn't it?

Yes, it is. I once knew a woman who was abandoned by her doctors. She was in a horrible auto crash and they just dumped her when the money ran out from the insurance she had. She had a lot of injuries and was crippled by the accident.

@PatZAnthony That is really sad especially for people with few resources. There has to be a better way.

I see it as an opportunity for insurance companies to come up with a special mental health insurance policy and good potential for psychiatrists to be employed better for evaluating the patients.

Yes, that is absolutely right. We need more love in this world. It would help a lot.

That is a terrible thing, they should accept anyone who knows they need help regardless of insurance.

Isn’t this just so sad ? I feel like there is so much we need in this world. One thing we really need in this world is more help for people who have psychological issues. And I mean any type of psychological issue. I feel like one of the biggest problems we overlook is postpartum depression. We hear about all these women who hurt their children or who can’t handle it. One thing we forget is that when we have a baby, we have all these hormones going wild. This is why I feel that we need more classes for pregnant women and more awareness for it. It should also be easy to get into a therapist or psychiatrist. When I needed help, most places that were covered under my state insurance were booked for months. And I felt like I needed immediate help, but not emergency help. This is something that needs to be addressed and taken care of. Hopefully the world will open it’s eyes and see the real issues out there.

What bout government hospitals? They can take care of such patients, or if the government in your country has medical/health cards for the poor.

I guess there is a shortage. The president took over medical care and this is what we have.

It's a disgrace. The medical service in this country is shameful, especially what with the obscene profits that the hospitals and insurance companies make.

Yes, I think we could do better and profit is always the motive for everything.
