I was going to go over and work some more at my friend's house, but I also wanted to work on the stacks of boxes in my front room. After all, its finally dry enough I could get them out to a shed if they were properly sorted.
These boxes were, I thought anyway, just fanzines.
For those of you who don't know what a fanzine is, it is an amateur publication with stories written by fans of a TV show, or more than one TV show and printed on generally standard 8 1/2 by 11 sheets and variously bound.
Now these were mostly 'zines from the old 1960's show, The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and the 1990's show, The Sentinel.
However, they are a mix of "gen" and "slash" fiction. After buying all this slash stuff, she now has gotten super religious and wants to get rid of it.
So, I had to go through every box and separate the gen from the slash and, while I was at it, since I was sorting anyway, I also separated the UNCLE from the Sentinel and the other stuff.
Well, I found 2 boxes that were just jigsaw puzzles and another 2 that were mostly jigsaw puzzles.
Also, none of these boxes were what I would call - well packed.
To put it another way. I had started with 15 boxes. I put the jigsaw puzzles in large paper bags and now have 9 boxes of 'zines.
Remember, only 4 were jigsaw puzzles, and two weren't completely jigsaws. That means I took the number from 15 to 9. That also means I have 6 MORE boxes that I can pack! They are back in the car to go back over and be filled again.
This project took hours, however I think I can safely say that it was time well spent!
