They are Okay

Sunday morning, I had a text on my phone. It said, "I'm so worried about you guys. I have not heard from anyone since the shooting in the nightclub. Please let me know if you and Gloria are okay."
I had not heard of the terrorist mass murder in the Pulse Nightclub. I went to the news on my computer and my heart broke when I saw the ugly details.
The message had obviously been sent to the wrong number. I texted them back to let them know because I knew they were terrified.
A day later, I texted the person back and said that I pray that your loved ones are safe. I got a reply in a few hours. Yes, they are okay, thanks.
The texts made this tragedy all the more personal because it showed the heart of real people involved.

A very sad event that caused many tears to be shed from family, friends and strangers.

@akalinus It was predicted to go from bad to worse and it seems to be sadly going in that direction.

@1hopefulman Yes, I cringe to think about it. Do you worry about it?

I think it probably meant more to the folks whom you followed up with than you'll ever know that you did contact them to make sure their loved ones were safe. Sometimes the kindness of a random stranger can mean more than all the good wishes of family and friends.

Many times a text can be sent to a.wrong number, and it is thoughtful to tell the person, so that they can send to the right number.. In this case it was extra important,
