I think with writing sites, some times some one may write something referring to whatever in general and some one will be offended. Then another person will join in and "assume" what you've said in an explanation. However that person's assumption is totally wrong!! I think some times people may take things personally, when in reality you're just talking about whatever in general. It's like on FaceBook, you post something that is funny and some one else may be offended by it, when they were the LAST person you were thinking about!! ~Peace~ photo courtesy of bing public domain images

It seems like you have to be careful about what you say sometimes. Even if you say something you think is perfectly innocent, there can still be someone who takes it the wrong way. I've had discussions in which I've said one thing, someone else has, basically, told me I am wrong and then repeated exactly what I said as their own opinion. Or those who respond to something in such a way that it is clear they haven't understood what you've said. There are times when misunderstandings can occur but there are also times when you wonder how something could possibly have been considered to mean what someone thought it meant.

I so agree. Some people may just get inside their own heads too much and it is easy to take things personally and more seriously than they would regularly. If it is serious state it as so and if it is to be with lest serious tones that needs to be acknowledged as well. Good communication is key.

The big problem with writing is you don't see the facial expression or any gestures. The challenge for any writer is somehow convey the possibly lost meaning through words alone. I think we all fail sometimes.
