Sunday through Wednesday evenings on the mission trip were spent hosting Bible school at a Navajo family's home, outside. We hosted 2 Bible schools at 2 different homes during the week. We split our group in 2 to do so. This picture is one of game time and they were playing duck duck goose. Each night we had a canvas that the youth of the trip had drawn and colored a picture of the earth in the middle. Each night, going with the lesson, the children (and adults) drew on the canvas. The first night we all put our hand prints around the earth and drew fish. The next night we drew feathers on it. Next night was leaves. The last night was stick people. This canvas was then given to the host family for allowing us to host the Bible school at their house. (We also presented them with a quilt made by the ladies at Emanuel church) Children came from houses that were close by. When I say close by, the closest was across the road. The houses on the reservation were not close to each other. The only houses close to each other would be close relatives. For example, the house that hosted for us just down the way was the house of the grandmother and uncle and a little ways from it was another close relative of that family. Some of the children rode over on horses. One family did come in the truck that you see in the photo even though their house was a 45 minute drive away! It was so wonderful to watch just how much these children enjoyed themselves. It wasn't just the children either. The adults also were thrilled to be able to take part in the songs and crafts. One boy, not really a boy, was 23 years old. I just loved watching how much fun he was having with us! Unfortunately the night I took the game photo here, he didn't come that night. On the last day the parents where we hosted at came and gave me a thank you hug. That really meant a lot too.

one runs around the circle touch heads saying duck duck duck then finally goose. That person has to get up and they both run in opposite directions. The one who doesn't make it back to that spot first is then the next one to say duck duck and choose the next goose. The kids sure have fun with it.
