A friend of mine has been trying to sell a teardrop style camping trailer. Basically just a bed on wheels. She had even said that she would give it to family if they would come get it. It needs to be recaulked, and it needs to be varnished and stained, and the vinyl or whatever, maybe fiberglass needs to be cleaned up. She gave it to us. We had talked to her daughter about it and were willing to make payments. She said to just come and get it.

trailer
@TiarasOceanView I had to convert the photos as hubby's new camera makes them too large.

@GardenGerty It was very nice of her to gift it to you. You will have to take photos of it.

Probably will camp some but also planning on taking it with us on trips where we would normally sleep in a motel or in our car. Much more comfy and less expensive.

@Genipher Our thought was that we could even take Princess with us when we see family as she would have a place to stay if they did not like cats.

I am not sure what a teardrop style camping trailer is. Are you talking about a pop up trailer?

I got the images resized so I am including one. It is not a pop up, just a little tear drop shaped bedroom.

@GardenGerty Okay now I know what you are talking about, I didn't know the name of this, thanks for the picture so I could know what you were talking about.

Hopefully a little TLC will make it a worthwhile asset. We were given a small home built cargo trailer. It served well at the time and might be worth refurbishing for future use. For now it just sits there.

My husband did an excellent job of refurbishing an open trailer. I am guessing yours is a box trailer, though.

@koopharper Hubby used 2x8s and did bottom and sides cause it was a metal frame. We used an old door for a slide in gate. Hubby sealed all with a deck sealer.

@GardenGerty It's open on the top and the wood is badly rotted. The frame is still sound and those front tractor wheels last forever.

That's really cool! I took the day off from moving Maggiepie, except I ended up having to go over and get her up so she would be ready to go to the rehab place. I had hoped I could just do normal Tuesday stuff, well, besides unload the car from yesterday. Because I was at Maggie's, I didn't get to go to the Bakery. I took about an hour or so nap in the morning, and then crashed for another couple'a hours in the roomie's room.

I never have gotten it straight where Maggiepie is going, but you are a good friend to do all you are doing. There are days I need naps.

@GardenGerty Maggie's lease is up at the end of the month. She has gone to a rehab place, but they can only keep her for a month. I suspect that they will help find SOME place for her to go, at least for a while. She wants to move into another apartment, but I doubt any place will take her in her condition... So, where is she going to go? Good question!

Grats on getting a free camper! Anyway, it was a nice gesture from your friend and you offering to make payments is a good gesture as well. Do get a photo up so we see how it looks like.

trailer
I am needing to get some photo help somewhere. I got a new camera for hubby and I think the pictures are "too large" for myLot. I have not been able to load them. I may have to use my old camera to get some images for discussion.

That is really a kind gesture, the trailer surely needs a bit of work, so she thought you must pay nothing for it.

It needs a little work. She had tried to sell it and nothing came of it. I believe they wanted it to be used and to be out of their storage.

@GardenGerty We had the same problem with an old car, it was a shame to leave the car unused in the garage, we gave it to a friend.

We plan to use it when we go more than a day trip away. Like back east to see hubby's family. He hates hotels, scared of getting bed bugs.
