The other day I was asked about my blogging, and the stuff I've gotten from companies, when I messaged them since I take pictures of everything for my blogs. The only things that aren't pictured are what I got yesterday and today. Which where a box of Bonanza chickpea noodles, and my aloe vera juice from Alo. So when I'm asked how I do it. It's all been an interesting road. I do have to have at least a reasonable blog going. Mine's an eco friendly, essential oil, and vegetarian blog, you know your typical green blog. I have a somewhat normal following on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, (around 3000 folk total). But the toughest part I have found is e-mailing the companies themselves, I'm a person who hates to be told no. It's tough to contact a company and have them tell me no oddly. The e-mails have to be all professional like extremely well written. It's nuts. What is sent does very from company to company. Either from funding, or what they want to send. You know. The one that surprised me the most was the people of the Goodie Girl Cookies, I got like 5 things of their cookies, 4 packages of wraps, and like 4 bags of pita chips. It was insane, and I was still in the WAY beginning. Sure I've learned down the road that quality is better than quantity with both products and what I write, so I don't go contacting companies all the time. I do it at least once a month, and it's only about 40 or so companies I contact, knowing most will be, no it's almost interesting to learn about new products though. As someone who does this I don't do it for the free products, I don't. I like the whole eco friendly/vegetarian life style and I like to talk to help other people learn about it. It's almost this feeling of helping people and teaching people about what I like and I do like the weird looks I get in public if I'm drinking something like Aloe juice, or chips that people haven't tried, almost like a walking advertisement. I still do Amazon reviews every now and then through the Facebook groups, and some of the review sites, or pitching to a company for an item on Amazon, if their products fit my blog. It all started from that though, once I learned from an Amazon review admin that she was able to get something from a company by contacting them, but they had to have a good blog. So I figured I'd try. But yeah, since I was asked about this the other day I figured I'd explain this a bit better. I'm sorry for making this so long.
