The shop owners (Wild Birds Unlimited) are in Portland for a franchise conference, so the rest of us are "all hands on deck" for the next several days, then on July 12th, Barbara, the co-owner goes in for knee replacement, so the next month will be one of many more hours for my "part-time" job, over twice as many as usual. it starts today, 11 to 5, then some short shifts on Saturday and Sunday. There are days off scheduled, just not enough for a retired guy. That's what I get for being reliable, I guess. On the upside, there are always trips to the coast, trips to Portland to visit my daughter in the house she just bought and tickets to music venues too.

Work is good. Where in Portland does your daughter live? I have a soft spot for the area near Reed College, since a friend of mine went there.

She looked at some places near there, but was out bid. All properties there are going over the listed price. She bought a very old little house in the Hawthorne/Mt. Tabor area. Lotsa dollars.

Maybe you can keep the extra money aside and use it for 'treats' you wouldn't normally have.

@JamesHxstatic I really like doing that as it makes the effort seem more worthwhile.

I've never liked getting called into work, until I get the paycheck. The extra money is nice.
