The Logic of a Three Year Old

Let’s see how well I can explain this to all of you. Latvian tradition has it that on holidays and birthdays people would bake a special kind of sweet bread called a klingeris which would be shaped like a large pretzel. It would include sliced almonds on top. Now in Latvian almonds are called mandeles but mandeles also refer to the tonsils. Anyway every time when my mom would bake a klingeris I would pick off the almonds which came out of the oven all toasty and eat them. Mom would tell me to leave them alone but I always managed to get some into my mouth. One particular time my mom notices that I’m not eating the almonds off of the klingers. Not knowing what to expect from a three year old she asked me why I wasn’t eating the almonds this time. My answer absolutely floored her. I had heard her talking over the phone to my friend Anna’s mom who was telling her that Anna had gotten a sore throat and painful mandeles or in other words tonsilitis. Well I translated this not to tonsils but to almonds. So I replied to my mom that I wasn’t eating the almonds because I didn’t want to get a sore throat and swollen mandeles or tonsils. Go figure the logic of a three year old. Picture of me around that age

That was a fair enough deduction on your part. What a lovely big bow you have in your hair.

Sometimes when I look at these pics I think that my bows were a bit two large @JudyEv later on my hair grew long and I had braids.

@RasmaSandra My sister had braids for years too. Sometimes one, sometimes two, sometimes pinned up on her head.
