Dog's jacket that I made..

My son in the middle's rotweller is boarding with us because we have more room for him here in our backyard to run around. We have him now since the beginning of 2009. But my son comes around every day after work to take him for walks and feed him.
We have a winter house and a summer house for him outside the courtyard but for the last two winters he didn't want to go inside his winter house where he's got a blanket and a cushion..
This winter has been extra cold so I decided to make him a jacket to keep him warm during the night because he prefers to sleep in the courtyard.
He was very suspicious when I measured him and it was chaotic when we did the fitting
. I had to make a small alteration so he is not choked around the collar..
..
It took me about 6 hours to make it .. My husband and I put it on him .He looked shocked at first 
and after half an hour or so, he looked calm and comfortable..
This is the first time I made a dog's jacket and I am pretty pleased with it
..I told my husband that I might make him a batman outfit ..
Have you ever made any outfits for your pets?..

@miniam i was standing on the other side of the street waiting for public transportation. the car was parked at a fastfood place. the door opened and the dog got out first.

@just4him oh okay .. I can't have dogs or cats inside the house as I am allergic to to their hair ..

Thanks Valerie .. indeed , dogs with long or think fur don't need to have extra covering even in winter.. especially if they are allowed inside ..

The other night when the dog saw my husband picked up the jacket , he ran away ..lol ..maybe he wasn't feeling that cold..

Very nice jacket, it will make him comfortable in winter. I also made one when our shitzu was newly shaved and it was December, so it is cool in our place. I was also glad I had made it.

That is a very good looking dog jacket. No I have never made one, I have bought them however.

I don't think it's necessary to make clothes for dogs over there in the Philippines to keep them warm because the is quite warm over there..

it's good that he gets to bond with your son every day.
does he stay in the backyard all the time or is he allowed inside the house?
is the jacket padded?

@hereandthere .. yes it's good that my son is responsible enough to come and spend time with his pet.. the dong is not used to being inside the house and we don't like animals in the house anyway ..and yes that jacket is padded ..

thanks @jaboUK .. yes I could make them but I don't think it's worth my time .. I don't think anyone would pay me $150 to make it plus $15 for the materials ..
