Daniel Evans, former British number 2, ranked 91st in the world and unseeded in the tournament, is playing Roger Federer, ranked third in the world and the number 3 seed in the tournament, in the third round of the Gentlemen's Singles today. The British players haven't done terribly well in the draws. Federer, even though no longer at his peak, is not an easy player to face. Having said that, Evans is only a few weeks off his highest world ranking and hasn't got to the third round before. So he's doing better than normal.

He might surprise us all, Federer is not at his best so we can expect anything.

True, but Federer is still merely extremely good.
