Braindead

For some reason I was braindead for about three days and couldn’t think of one thing to post here on myLot. I know, no one has to tell me. It’s known as writer’s block. Well, my old block got to thinking yesterday and I came up with a couple of things to write about. (I haven’t been called a blockhead for no reason.) This blockhead is going to get with my brother today and we are going to take our mother out to do her monthly running around. After that we are taking her to dinner for an early Fourth of July dinner. There are two reasons we decided to take Mom to an early Fourth of July dinner. The first is because the restaurant we want to go to will be closed on the Fourth. The second is I could see no reason for my brother to drive all the way into Spokane to do his business today then have to come back in on the Fourth. Since he has to come in today anyway, why not take care of everything at once? My brother never seems to think of things like that. He has come in one day to do something then the very next day to do something else when both things could have been done on the same day. It doesn’t seem to click with him on how much gas and wear and tear on his vehicle he can save by taking care of everything in one trip. But then my brother likes to be on the go all the time. Staying home and saving money just isn’t his style. Then at the end of the month he’s whining that he doesn’t have any money and can’t go anywhere until he receives money the following month. If we do things today we also have more choices on our pick of restaurants if we decide to go to a different restaurant. I’m certain we will go to the restaurant we have in mind since Mom likes going there. If not, we have many more choices. Anyway, that’s the plans for today.

I know you are definitely more organized than your brother - even with time. I think it's smart to celebrate early (or even later - that's what we often do). You don't waste time getting into places - and you can enjoy a quieter meal. Anyway, I hope you have a nice dinner with Mom and brother!

@RichardMeister Maybe everyone else had the same idea of celebrating early too! Ah, so you went to that Skippers! If Mom wants McSundaes, then McSundaes is what she will get. We get those once and a while for the kids (only $1, right?).

@much2say We had to pay $1.51. Mom said she thought they were $1 because that was what she was paying for them at a different Mc.

It turned out the places we went were very busy. I think maybe people getting items for the Fourth of July. We had a good dinner. We went to Skipper's. Mom had her usual one piece fish and one piece chicken. Then she wanted us to take her to McDonald's to get sundaes. I was going to suggest we go to DQ but Mom is very fussy so I didn't suggest it and we ended up at the golden arches.

I thought this post was going to be about the rather bizarre zombie film of the same name!

No, but there is a new tv show on CBS titled Braindead. It isn't about zombies. Well, maybe it is. It's about politics and politicians.

That sounds like an efficient way to operate today and I'm sure your mother will appreciate you both being along.

Yeah, good old writer's block. One of the things I was taught back when I was studying writing for publication was to get out the phonebook and start reading names. Supposably it won't take long for you to think of something to write. Thanks, I'm sure I'll have a wonderful time and you have a good (long–if you live in the US) weekend, too.

You are good at planning.....thing is we have to deal with people who don't plan ...so in the end I compromise .. Hope you'll have a nice time.

My brother usually compromises when I make better suggestions than what he has planned.
