Brownies and Zero Tolerance

For those who have no experience with the chocolaty yummy treat, in this discussion, that is what a brownie is.
A brownie is also a small girl scout about six or seven years old.
A brownie was a mischievous small pretend being we read about in children's stories.
My facebook feed has had a news article for a couple of days about a child being interviewed by the police of his city over his racist comment about brownies. They were the treat being served at an end of school party. What I read stated that he said "I don't like brownies" and another student accused him of being racist.
The police, in full dress including guns, were called in and interviewed this alleged racist, without his parents present. That is illegal. Child protective services were even called in.
The school board states that the district has zero tolerance of fights, disagreements and unkind words. So this nine year old basically got bullied by the school for disliking a chocolate dessert.
Police man power was taken off the streets to deal with this dangerous crime against society.
I remember one of our grade schools had a principal that would call police over any rough housing, even between five and six year olds.
I question the wisdom of this kind of behavior enforcement.
The article has moved out of my feed, there is more "news" to be read. I will not name the school or state.
If this happened near you and you know something I do not know, please let me know.
I wonder what the outcome would have been if this was a butterscotch dessert and the kid said, "I don't like blondies."?

I know. The mom wants to transfer out of the school. I am glad they have zero tolerance of bullying and meanness, but come on. . . use some common sense.

This is a 'smh moment' for me. Seriously? All that fuss over a 'brownie' remark?

@GardenGerty we seriously need to rethink our education system if it is being run by people like this.

You know... this has gone way beyond stupid. I don't even know what to call it any more, unless someone is just trying to put fear into everyone so no one will say a word. The principal is stupid. That little boy's life has been forever changed because of this stupidity. And for the record, I don't like brownies, either. I wonder if the police will show up on my door now.

This was school district policy in this case, not just the principal. Common sense is very uncommon. I like some brownies, not others, I am very prejudiced, I guess.

Sounds like some extremes going on. Cute about the blondies. Who doesn't like them? Had two brownies last night.

As the mom said, you might expect that kind of strictness at High School level, but at grade school level it is not appropriate. I guess I have known a few people who disliked chocolate.

@GardenGerty ......Some schools are ridiculous in their rules. I have known a few who didn't care for chocolate too.

This is extreme stoopidness on behalf of the schools in this case.
