This will be my TMI discussion for the day (happy Saturday all, by the way!). I have been having this problem worse this year than any other. My feet are so dry! And this is with using a pummus (sp) stone and lotion every 2 days. It just seems to go back to bad almost instantly no matter which type of lotion Ive used. Do you have this problem to? Have you found a magical solution or any home remedy or practice that helps? Do share!

Coconut oil is a popular home remedy here.

Have you tried that? Do you heat it up and slather it on or how does that work? I have some organic coconut oil at home so I could definitely give it a shot. Any info is appreciated.

@maezee the oil gets frozen in the cold, so if it is like that you have to heat it up and then apply it, rub it in.

No i don't have that problem You use pumice stone to scrub your feet? Have you applied petroleum jelly at night and cover your feet with socks? I've tried it and the following day my feet are ever so soft.

@maezee There are thin socks that are cool in the feet. We, bikers, use that kind of socks when we're cycling coz it keeps our feet cool.

Do you mind wearing socks even in summer? I might recommend some Coconut Oil, the finest you can get. I think it's Extra Virgin that is supposed to be the best, but am not sure right off hand. If you put this on your feet and then wear socks so that it will soak in and not rub off while you sleep? This may help. Have you heard about the listerine trick as well? Suposedly you soak your feet in listerine and can then scrub the dry skin away easily. I'm not so sure about that but thought i'd put it out there too.

@maezee I also just saw that vapor rub of all things can help! I'm going to be putting some on my feet in a little while and see how it does. I have such dry feet that I'll try anything!

Whatever lotion you are using add a few drops of glycerine to it and you will get smooth skin for sure. My mother applies it and it works like magic.
