I just visited my son and his wife in North Carolina and we were getting dressed to go to dinner and a button came off of my grandson’s shirt sleeve. My daughter-in-law showed us a quick way to reattach the button without getting out a needle and thread. She said she read about this in a magazine several months ago but had never used the idea.
Take a bread-bag twist, run it under water for a few seconds to remove the paper and then take the thin wire and reattach the button, by running the wire through the button holes and through the fabric and twisting the wire on the other side. It worked!!
Who knew?
Another tip she told me. She doesn’t buy dryer sheets. She purchases a large bottle of hair conditioner at the Dollar Tree and keeps it in the laundry room. She puts a few drops of the hair conditioner on a clean washcloth and throws it in the dryer with the wet clothes. Works like a charm. I’m going to try it.
Do you have some clever tips to share?
