The diet - again

The roomie got bored and we went off the diet a couple of months ago. However, we have started again on Friday. So far, so good! One thing that helped was making up two weeks of menus so we (she) doesn't get so bored. We weighed again to start this morning. She was up about 8 lbs, but at least some of that is fluid retention. I was only up a pound from where we last weighed, good for me! One thing I really have to stay on top of her with is how much food she puts on my plate, because I'll eat it all. I suspect that is why I haven't gained a lot of weight back, because I've been careful about how much she was putting on my plate. Another thing is that if I quit eating when I run out of drink. I can easily put away 2 or more cans of soda a meal, and while its diet soda, I don't need to be drinking that much soda anyway. I have a large glass (well, its plastic actually) that I put water, ice and a flavored tube of "cool-ade" in, that way I'm not drinking a soda. Probably not the best for me, but certainly not the worst either. So, we've just finished out dinner - actually, breakfast/lunch/supper and we need to finish our shopping. We'll probably eat something light later, we made a fruit salad yesterday and had a bowl with dinner last night and one for "afters" this afternoon. So, I'll try to get back on posting about the diet. Since I nearly killed myself getting my friend's place cleaned out, I was pretty about about what I ate, but I also got more exercise than I had been having lately.

Ooh, if you could completely cut out the sodas, I bet you'd drop a bunch of weight. Some years back my hubby and I got off wheat and sugar. He dropped about 30 pounds in a month! Anyway, good job getting back on the wagon. Losing weight is hard!

Like I said, they are sugar free sodas, so its not like I'm getting a lot of sugar from them - as in, no sugar... Yeah, losing weight is hard, especially if someone isn't helping...

@ElicBxn I've heard diet sodas can be just as bad. They're highly acidic for your body and can create a continued craving for sweets. But...I You gotta do what ya gotta do! I agree. Having support while losing weight is a big helper.

@Genipher I've heard that too, so I am going to try and cut WAY back on them.
