My Fourth of July

I had several things to get done today and they've all been railroaded. Got up at 8 and took care of the inside critters. Went to go take care of the donkeys and a dog from down the road is wandering my back yard. I chase him off and go to the haybarn and I hear a puppy squealing. Sure enough, under the building is a black puppy.
I took it some food and water and was going to go see if it belonged to one of the neighbors except for the fact that the skies opened up and it started pouring. Now mind you, there was only a 10% chance of rain for today. It's still pouring. This is also going to screw up the mower guy coming out tomorrow to mow my property.
This is also messing up my trip to town for supplies. And it's only 9:30 my time. So I can just imagine how the rest of my day is going to go.

I spent the day scouring the neighborhood for who owns the puppy @jaboUK but because it was the 4th, nobody was home. He's still here today. Called the local shelter and they can't take him but they did bring me a bag of puppy food.

@nanette64 Sounds like another one for your menagerie. I'm glad that the shelter brought some food, but a pity that they couldn't take him.

Well I hope the rain doesn't last long so you can get your chores down and make your trip down town. I'll still travel and run errands when it's raining just not when it's hailing or down pouring to the point you can't see.

It turns out that the puppy belongs to the people 60 acres away from me @Letranknight2015 . How that 2-month-old puppy managed to make it that far is amazing.

I finally found the owners @just4him . They're about 40 acres from me. That's a long way for that young of a pup to travel. All the rain has unsettled the house and I have walls separating from the ceiling and my tub/shower is separating from the wall. I've got a guy coming out Saturday to hopefully re-level the house.
