As I have told earlier that my best friend's birthday is coming,I am thinking of not being there in his birthday yet giving him some of the surprises.I want to try something out of the box as in giving him surprises yet not being in his story or birthday. This sounds a little weird but I am planning for it.I am thinking of making him feel special for his birthday without actually being there yet doing something. What do you feel? How is the thought?

That sounds strange to me... why would you not want to be with your friend on his birthday? I would think your friend would value your presence more than your gift.. at least I would.

I guess your thought of giving him a surprise is welcome because it would be probably something different than the things he's used to, and I suppose people to get away from their routines on special days like birthdays. I feel you should stick to your plan and prepare a nice surprise for him, I'm sure he will appreciate it.

well, it's risky but if your friend thinks it's fine with it then go for it.
