I Did A Double Take...

I don't know about you, but some times as I'm walking away from something I'll see some thing out of the corner of my eye and look back, kind of like doing a double take. Some times our eyes also can do tricks on us. We might see something fast and it doesn't look like what it appears to be. Well, just the other day we went to town and we were in a thrift store. I saw this woman with her child in a stroller. As she was coming towards my direction, I turned to see something I was interested in. As I was turning, out of the corner of my eye, it looked like some thing fell out of the stroller. So I turned to look back and pick up whatever fell out of the stroller and as I turned, I could see the mother picking the child up!! Yes, the child fell out of the stroller!! My husband was behind me and saw it all! I just wanted to grab the poor baby out of the mom's arms to comfort it!! ~Peace~ photo courtesy of pixabay

The child obviously wasn't strapped in which suggests that the mother was somewhat negligent.

@Genipher Ok, you are quite right - we shouldn't judge without knowing the circumstances. To be fair to myself, I did say 'suggest'.

@jaboUK All right, I'll let you off with a warning since you had "suggests" in your comment.

Poor baby, was the mum so concentrated in shopping and forgot to take care of her number 1 responsibility?

@miniam Naw, It can be normal to be clingy. I'm slooowly learning to let my children try things without me hovering over their every move. Being clingy doesn't mean you won't be a good mom. I just want to point out that, as a mother of 6, I know from experience that it only takes a moment with your back turned for your kid to get away from you or do something stupid. So when I hear someone saying that a mother is "negligent" or "irresponsible" because she wasn't watching her child like a hawk and they got hurt, well, it chaps my hide a bit.

These past posts are people falling. Is it contagious? I did my falls and would like some quiet time from that now.

I'm curious...how old was the child? A brand new infant (i.e. under 6 months old) or a 1-2 year old? I've had that reaction at the grocery store, when a newborn infant is crying. I just wanna go over and cuddle the babe. I hope you didn't judge the mother too harshly. We all make mistakes.
