That's just peachy!

Its peach season in Texas. For decades the area around Johnson City has been peach country, Fredricksburg being one of the best know, but Stonewall, in the same area, is also well known. A lot of this area is converting the grapes and, hence, wineries. In a large part its been because there have been a few disastrous peach seasons and the trees in the orchards are aging. Between the drought, ill timed hail storms, late freezes and a few extremely hot summers that went on between 2005 and 2014, the peaches just haven't been as profitable as they once were. However, some small orchards have always sent in individuals with crates of peaches and pop-up shelters to sell peaches by the side of the roads in the areas large cities, including, naturally, Austin. As I was driving to my pain doctor's yesterday I spotted one such seller. That made me sad, because I remember how much my mother loved peaches. I would guess that if she could've found ripe, local peaches, she would've eaten them every day. When I told the roomie about them, she said: "And you didn't buy me any?" Kind of hard when all I had on me was my debit card... I'm sure they have ways to take those now, but then it would've had to sit in my hot car while I did other things. I told her that at least I knew where there was some to be bought now... So, do you like peaches? What is your favorite way to eat them?
