Something happened today with my mother in the morning and it spoiled my day.
My mother was picking flowers from a small garden just in front of our house when an unknown fellow came there and offered to help her in picking flowers. My mother said to him politely,'No,thanks,I have already picked five flowers and don't need more.'
Just then he suddenly proceeded forward and before my mother could understand what he was about to do,snatched the golden chain from my mother's neck and ran away towards the railway station.Shocked,my mother shouted, but nobody was there near to her.By the time some passers by arrived at the spot, the robber had jumped a wall and made away.
We have lodged a F.I.R. with the police.
This incident has spoiled my day.

@amnabas,There has been as many as five chain snatching incidents in the last fortnight. The town we live in has been peaceful, but now such incidences are threatening the peaceful atmosphere here.A few days back two friends,Ramkrishna and Abdul by names were looted at gunpoint while he were on their way back home from a village.

@silvermist,No,it was closed and my mother was picking flowers outside a little away from our house. The place where we live is safe and no such incidence has ever happened here. This is the first crime that has taken place here.

@else34 That is a pity,we can't say we were careless. But then chain snatching is very widespread in India.

@Jessicalynnt,And very shocking too.The golden chain was bought by my younger sister as a gift to our mother. My sister had bought it with her first salary.

Oh, that's awful. At least she wasn't hurt. Maybe they will catch him.

@AbbyGreenhill,May be,though I am hopeless.Even if they nab him, recovery of chain seems unlikely.

That's really sad to hear and although your mom lost her gold chain she's lucky the robber didn't hurt her.

@Marilynda1225,Of course,he didn't hurt her, perhaps because people who were a little away from the spot ran and he ran away to evade being beaten or being handed over to the police.

These incidents are increasing in Assam, especially in cities, too... hope the situation would change one day..

@ritwik17c,Let's hope so.I,for one,am completely hopeless about recovery of the chain.
