Do You Pity Negative People?

As a person who has mellowed a lot and see positive things in life, I pity some people who always seem to carry heavy burdens in their hearts.
They see a lot of negativity; everything seemed questionable, so bleak, always suspicious! Some could be so hypocrite; they always show up or attend church services or have some roles in the church, but they could not smile or they always have that stoic look.
I look at them with pity. They are missing a lot of beautiful things in life. They just have to open their minds and everything will be fine.

You are right, but only we are capable of changing ourselves. I too have learnt a lot, it is good to be positive but only myself can bring change in my attitude.

I agree, only a person can really change himself; if sees the good things in life; if he will open his mind, then he will see the light.

I feel that way too! Some people have just to open their eyes and see that there are already beautiful things happening in their own lives.

They do not want to change, they focus only on the negative side of things or experiences.

@acelawrites Pitying is like doing nothing at all, but sympathizing is doing something. Empathy is also putting yourself into the shoes of that person.

I pity them because they are losing a lot about life; that life can be so beautiful if they would just think positively.

I never really thought about it. I just try not to hang out with negative people.

Yes,, you can absorb that negative vibes too. But they need positive people to "neutralize" their attitudes.

@acelawrites I think I absorb the negative more than I do the positive :(

It will depend on why they are so negative. I've known people who have been through terrible things or are going through something awful. Those people I will feel sorry for.

It could be the reason why they felt that way; they could not move on from negative experiences.

Life indeed is so short, so one must appreciate the beautiful things happening in his life; one can look at things negatively, but if he will open his mind, he can see the silver lining in the nimbus cloud.

I agree with you, @jaboUK. Life is short to fill it with negativity.

The can be annoying too, and one's tendency is just to avoid them.

You got it right! They tend to "soak" themselves in negativity.
